Junior Technical Recruiter - Part-Time (Paid Internship)

Cyber Defense Solutions has an opportunity for a Part-Time Junior Technical Recruiter Intern to support one of our offices.

Part-time (Paid Internship) , 10 hours per week

Cyber Defense Solutions is hiring a Junior Technical Recruiter to support our Lorton, VA office. 

Position Criteria

Location: Lorton, VA 

Position Description

You will join a dynamic team, who are all working towards a common goal. You will utilize full life cycle recruitment, and strive to meet weekly and monthly objectives both individually, and as a team.  Additionally, you will:

  • Confirm with Recruiting Manager to identify recruiting efforts,
  • Send out weekly recruiting metrics,
  • Source applicants through various methods including advertising, recruiting, and attending career/job fairs of various types,
  • Pre-screen applicants, conduct candidate phone screens, coordinate interviews cooperatively with hiring managers, and ensure candidates are fully aware of the job duties and customer
  • Verify references and employment verifications, process candidate information for approval
  • Provide regular updates and feedback to the HR Manager regarding status of job openings, candidate flow, and any brainstorming ideas regarding the recruitment process
  • Learn to maintain a steady pipeline of potential candidates
  • Assist in on-boarding efforts
  • Other tasks as assigned


To qualify for this role, you should:

  • Have at least an Associate's Degree (or 2 years of college) in Business, IT or related field (BS Degree Prefered but not required)
  • Have a high energy, enthusiasm and willingness to learn
  • Have a strong desire to meet and exceed goals and objectives
  • Have exceptional communication skills but oral and written
  • Be sharp, witty and knowledgeable
  • Show a high regard for professionalism
  • Like talking to people, like talking on the phone, and like people in general
  • Show a genuine interest in the recruitment field
  • Any experience in sales, Recruiting or IT a plus.
